Halloween Night

We hung out at my Mom's house most of Halloween night. I think it's super fun to get trick-or-treaters. I love seeing kids in their costumes and I love giving them candy and I love remembering how much I loved trick-or-treating. I hope that when I have kids that I'll live in a place that's safe to do trick-or-treating. We used to stay out trick-or-treating for what felt like forever when I was a kid. We were always freezing by the time we got home, but it was worth it.

Some cute trick-or-treaters from our ward.

Porcia and Palmer
Briana and Porcia
Toby is so cute! He is such a pleasant child, he's even willing to smile for the camera.

I think Annalisa should do her make-up like this for real. It's...dangerous.

Becca made this fantastic dress for Rachel last year I think. Rachel is incredibly lucky to have such a talented mom. Rachel is Beauty and Toby is the Beast of course.

Toby loves his mom.

Toby is playing with one of the buckets we used to trick-or-treat with when I was little.

Cameron looks so pretty. Since I wasn't able to keep this wig on Jacob for more than a minute at a time (he's just like a two year old in that sense) I had my fun by trying it on everyone else.

A classic Halloween porch picture. Jacob was so sick of porch pictures, but we hadn't had a porch picture on our porch yet, so he just had to suffer through it.

This could be Annalisa's real hair.

Pumpkins, Costumes

More of Halloween. Since it is such a wonderful holiday. Jessica was an Indian and Elliot was a cowboy.

Jake and I as Lorelai and Rory.

Becca got to come to town for just a few days and we spent Halloween with her and her two cute little kids. Here's Bec in the Lorelai wig and Toby smiling for the camera.

Toby did not want to be Lorelai.

Cameron, carving a pumpkin.

My mom and Bethanie working on another pumpkin.

Annalisa was down for the weekend as well. I love this picture of her. It's a combination of the Thriller zombie make-up she's still wearing and her being so excited to see Toby and be back in Provo. Shortly after this photograph was taken she whispered to me "This is the best day of my life."

Rachel spinning on the kitchen stool.

Elliot got food poisoning a few days before Halloween. He woke up in the middle of the night to puke and on the way to the toilet he grabbed his iphone so he could record himself puking. Then he proceeded to show everyone this video (I myself watched it multiple times). Jacob's pumpkin is in commemoration of Elliot. The pumpkin is even wearing Elliot's hat. We called the pumpkin Elliot Pukerhead (I'm actually lying about that name).

Elliot posing with his look alike.

Halloween Party

I love it that Halloween was on a Saturday this year and that the weather was so gorgeous. We headed to my Aunt Mary Ann's house for a Halloween party that afternoon.

Like last year, we made lots of people try on our wig for a picture. Only Jacob had a wig this year though, and it's not a very crazy wig. Mary Ann looks like this could be her real hair.

Tess and Greg were Indians (Tess of the Native American kind and Greg of the India kind).

Bethanie was a cowgirl. I think Bethanie was the only younger kid that was even dressed up though! It was everyone around my age that was into the costumes. For some reason we just care about Halloween more I guess. Of course Jonas and Max did have costumes but they were sick at their house and couldn't come.

Jacob and I were the Gilmore girls. Literally. He was Lorelai and I was Rory. Adam said that he could tell what we were dressed up as because of the coffee cups.

Group picture on the porch.

Zoe had just gotten back from getting her hair bleached blond in preparation for her role as Adelaid in her school production of Guys and Dolls. She looks great blond, don't you think?

Elliot is a real cowboy.

Four Wheeling at the Cabin

More of us at the cabin with Josh and Danna.

Riding the four wheeler on your tummy is fun! It's very easy to shift with your hand and it gives you a completely different perspective.

Here's Jacob going up a big-ish hill without me. I like to get off for those kinds of hills, since I have a fear of rolling backwards. And Jacob has an easier time on those hills without me on the back. I guess I'm fat or something.

Danna, however, is not afraid of the big hills.

After it started hailing we decided four wheeling was not the best idea anymore. So, we went back to the cabin, got into some dry clothes and headed down to Roger's for dinner. I love Roger's so much. They have the best temporary tattoos there.

Jacob was trying to make his head look as big as possible compared to mine. I don't even think it looks that big though, considering how much closer he is to the camera than I am.

After Roger's we... went out on the four wheelers again! They all humored me and drove all the way down to find an old friend's cabin that I used to go to in the fifth grade. That brought back so many memories, it was very fun. Then we went home, got into our onesies, had hot chocolate, and watched A Series of Unfortunate Events. What a great weekend, thanks for coming with us Josh and Danna :)

the Cabin

On a whim Jacob and I decided to go to the cabin for the weekend. We had a rare week where school wasn't too busy, we didn't have any papers or tests or projects due, so we took advantage of it. Josh and Danna were miraculously available on very short notice, so things really worked out perfectly.

We were down there from Friday night to Sunday morning, and this is the pile of things that we took with us. And this is not counting Josh and Danna's stuff, this is just our stuff waiting for them to arrive to be packed into their car. Good thing they have a pretty big car and a luggage carrier on the top. I should probably learn how to pack light at some point in my life.

We got down there about 9 pm that Friday and immediately bundled up to go four wheeling. Jacob and I had been down for a few hours the weekend before and he was intoxicated by four wheeling and had to have it again. It was actually really fun to go in the dark too.

And then more four wheeling the next morning. Here are Josh and Danna. On this excursion we went down to the little river that's by our cabin and built a dam. Well, we didn't really get to the dam level, it was more of a bridge. But it was really fun.

After coming back for lunch we went out for more four wheeling.

Jacob is on the four wheeler by himself here because I was too scared to go over some things with him. I would just get off, he would do it by himself, and then I'd get back on.

I had to wear my Yentel hat the whole time so that my hair didn't get dusty and gross.

Can't you just tell how happy he is?

Danna loved driving the four wheelers and made Josh share the driving with her :)

I didn't drive quite as much, just because I know Jacob likes it more than I do and I'm pretty content to just ride on the back.

Oh, this is the only picture we took from the weekend before at the cabin. We went with my family and the Roundy's for Fall Break.

Valentines Day?

We usually just make sugar cookies for Valentines Day because they're too much of a pain to do on a regular basis (but SO delicious). However, it has been 10 months since Valentines Day and we seemed to have forgotten that... Anyway, Jacob did most of the work and they were incredibly delicious. And at least my mom had pumpkin cookie cutters and we didn't have to use the heart ones.

This was the night that we celebrated Bethanie's 12th birthday. I made her two headbands for her birthday, including this pink one she's wearing here. She looks really cute in them.

I was too late to catch the Elliot show on camera. In this episode he lights a birthday candle, then puts the whole thing in his mouth (flame and all). Then he eats the candle and blows the smoke out his nose.

Kelly came for dinner that night. She fits right in.

Jonas made a heart in the birthday cake. He is very talented :) It was a fun night, even if we didn't get to watch Return to Oz because the cookies took too long.

Xander's Birthday

I haven't blogged in a very long time. Since this semester has been the busiest semester that both Jacob and I have ever had, we're a little bit busy. Then we get to the weekend and all we want to do is just not think anymore, so we've been pretty lazy on Sundays which is the day I usually blog. Anyway, as a result, I forgot how to blog and this post is entirely backwards. It is Sunday and I am too lazy to fix it.

Jacob's family all came to town for Xander's birthday. They like to go to Brick Oven for his birthday, so they have to come here instead of us going to see them in Salt Lake. Jacob took some photographs of Xander so that he can possibly be a model, so that was another good reason for them to come see us.

Xander loves Speed Racer. Very thoughtful gift, Kelly.

This is a book that Xander doesn't know he likes, but he does. It's called Squids Will Be Squids. It's from the same author as The Stinky Cheese Man. I don't actually know that book very well but I love Squids Will Be Squids. We're quite certain that Xander will soon love it as well. Or at least Curtis will.

Xander had "Jacob hair" that day.

What's with the bat, huh? Oh, and this is the picture taken before we went into the restaurant (you have to remember that it's backwards).

And on a different note, this is a flower that Jacob gave me to celebrate that I had finished my clinicals up at Primary Children's. Not that I didn't like going there, it's just that I hate driving on the freeway and I had to wake up at 4 am on Saturdays to go. So I was glad to be done.

And finally, doesn't Jacob look hot in this head band?
